Lakeside Joondalup Shopping Centre Re-development

Lakeside Shopping Centre

The expansion will be a two storey extension comprising of an additional 29,000 squares metres of retail and office floor space, with the ground floor at the level of the existing centre and upper level shops at the Grand Boulevard level. On completion of the works, the centres gross lettable area will be over 70,000 square metres.

The expansion will include a new major supermarket, Big W store and some 100 specialty stores.  There will be three (3) levels of deck parking with 1,710 new car bays proposed on the southern side of the building with access off Grand Boulevard and Collier Pass (the total number of car bays on-site will be 3,929 approx).


To link the centre with the current transit station and Boas Avenue, "Station Square" will be created.

Diamond Industries were appointed to provide all HVAC services to the new expansion including new Cooling Towers, Chiller, Boilers, Air Handling Units and VAV box air distribution systems.  Packaged and built up DX plant for specialised areas.  Full mechanical exhaust systems for car parks, Smoke spill, toilets and food court are also included. 

For full integration into the existing centre the entire control system will be replaced with the latest in “open protocol” building automation systems.

Hospital Benefit Fund HouseBuilding

 

Hospital Benefit Fund’s head office, “HBF House” is an existing fully occupied, eight (8) storey central city office building. Diamond Industries was engaged as the prime contactor on this major inner city refurbishment.

Diamond Industries brief on the project was to supply and install new systems as the lead contractor including builders’ works, demolition, electrics, control (DDC) systems and new fire sprinklers.  Crucial to this project was planning and project management as the building remained ONLINE and occupied during this floor by floor refurbishment.

New air conditioning and sprinkler systems were installed in the building while the client carried out his normal business with minor disruptions.  The existing air conditioning and fire detection systems remained in use while the new systems were built around them, and kept serviced to maintain the required conditions and safety as required by the client and statutory authorities.

The work on the eight office floors was carried out on a three month cycle, with the new central
chiller plant being installed on the roof in the early stages of the project.

The new air conditioning systems have increased capacity and substantially reduce electrical
power consumption.

Burswood Peninsula Towers Tower One Photo

 

The Peninsula was released as a development where owners will enjoy a pivotal location, with approximately 100 apartments per tower boasting sweeping views to the city, river, hills or parkland.

The buildings will feature the very latest thinking in residential design, creating both attractive and functional spaces for living.

Diamond Industries involvement in this prestigious development includes full mechanical services. Encompassing Air conditioning, Stairwell pressurisation, Central toilet exhaust and car park exhaust systems.

Main air conditioning systems consists of ducted water cooled refrigerated units in each apartment. These systems all connect to the double level plant room at roof level which houses the Cooling tower, Boiler, Heat exchangers and Pumps.

Expert project management services provided by Diamond Industries. Becoming the lead contractor were utilised to co-ordinate ALL of the building services providing trouble free construction period.

Edith Cowan University Library Picture of Library Building

 

Located on the Western side of Joondalup Campus, the new Library building is designed
to be a state of the art, student-focused facility combining Library services,
IT and media services.

It will feature a wide variety of seating and learning spaces for students designed to
facilitate learning and study, including numerous group study rooms and a large
outdoor courtyard.

The building is also intended as a social hub and gathering place for the campus, and will
contain a large coffee shop, as well as the relocated Bookshop.

Diamond Industries was awarded the contract to supply and install new Heating, Ventilation
& Air conditioning (HVAC) systems by Doric Constructions.

Air conditioning is connected to the campus chilled water ring main and comprises twenty six (26) air handling units (AHU) with 132 variable air volume (VAV) boxes. Heating for
the building is provided by a local heating water boiler and associated pumps.

Miscellaneous systems include coolroom refrigeration, data room air conditioning, gas fire suppression system and exhaust systems.

Computer based control systems not only provides control of comfort conditions, full energy monitoring including chilled and heating water consumption is also provided.

Mineral House Main Plant upgrade Mineral House Building

Diamond Industries’ brief was to supply, install and commission new systems as the main contractor including builders’ works, demolition. Crucial to this project was the planning and project management as the building has to remain online.

This project for the Department of Housing and Works (DHW) consists of the removal of four (4) old chillers, three (3) centrifugal units, one (1) reciprocating machine and associated pumps and controls. The new unit consists of three (3) screw chillers, their associated pumps and control system modifications. While the cooling towers will not be replaced they will be modified by the addition of variable speed drives to the fans, new distribution nozzles. Upgrade to pipe system to serve the new chillers and pumps.

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital Chiller

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital is a progressive, fully accredited teaching hospital located on a 28 hectare medical campus adjacent to Kings Park in Nedlands.

This project for the Department of Housing and Works (DHW) was completed in two (2) phases. The first consisted of the replacement of two (2) large cooling cooling towers, including the demolition of existing towers and installation of new towers. Following this Diamond Industries tendered and was awarded the second phase of these works which included the replacement of an addition cooling tower and supply and installation of a new 4,500 kW chiller, associated pumps and high voltage transformer. Diamond Industries brief was to supply and install new systems as the Main contractor including builders’ works, demolition. Crucial to this project was planning and project management as the hospital chilled water system had to remain online. The five (5) chiller plant room kept two (2) of the chillers running during plant replacement works.
